The United States Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that in 2000 there were over 450,000 large trucks that were involved in accidents.

With as many as 3.5 million truck drivers in the United States, safety training is a top priority.

Since a large truck is defined as a vehicle consisting of a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more, utilizing safe driving practices, skill and patience can help lessen the chances of becoming involved in a motor vehicle accident.
